The new Apple iPhone 3G was released in 21 countries earlier this month and sold over a million phones the first weekend. The original iPhone, however, sold about 250,000 during its first weekend (it was launched first just in the US). It took 74 days to sell the first 1 million original iPhones per CEO Steve Jobs.
Sprint has also announced the launch of Palm’s latest Treo800w recently as well. According to Stephane Maes, Palm Vice President of Marketing, “it’s an easy-to-use feature-packed smartphone that will keep users happy, empowered and productive.”
Has your agency received any of those phones replaced by the new Apple iPhone 3G and the Treo 800w? Somewhere out there are the old phones these new ones have replaced. And, there are loads of them. If you are looking for ways to augment your cell phone fundraising efforts, contacting stores that sell these two models might result in some good collections of the trade-ins to benefit the community!
